In the peaceful town of Simplicity, where life moves at a soothing pace, we are introduced to John Taylor (Jason Priestley), a young man whose passion lies in fishing. His ordinary life takes an abrupt turn when he finds himself embroiled in a web of deceit and murder when his boss (Peter Riegert) tasks him with killing off various people who pose a threat to their business interests.
It is not long before John finds himself grappling with his conscience as he begins to question his choice of profession. He forms an unlikely bond with Dahlia (Joelle Carter), one of his targets who is embroiled in an abusive relationship. The two develop feelings for each other that threaten to compromise their respective roles in this dangerous game.
